“Gossip Keeps You Safe” comes from the tradition of storytelling both creating and keeping female communities safe where there is little alternative. It is inspired by the Facebook Groups, “Are We Dating the Same Man?” where women will post images of men they have met on a dating app to crowdsource whether or not it would be safe to meet them in person,  The Angel Makers of Nagyrév: a group of women in the 1900s who were part of an arsenic poisoning ring helping women escape their abusive husbands, and the community surrounding Barton Hills Elementary during after school where all the parents watch out for the children.
